ReACT Programs

MIT ReACT Computer and Data Science Certificate Program (CDS)

MIT ReACT accelerates talented individuals like you to become agents of positive change in your career and communities. The MIT ReACT CDS Program is guided by four core pillars which leverage the strengths of MIT:

Academics: You will complete a curated series of online MIT coursework on MITx. Community teaching assistants and ReACT staff provide academic and technical support as learners gain mastery of foundational computer and data science concepts and skills.

Skills: Through a series of interactive online workshops, you will build and test the 21st century interpersonal skills you need to be successful in your education and careers. You will learn from MIT and a global team of experts about innovation and entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership, and problem solving, and other uniquely human skills specific to success in the modern workforce.

Professional Internships and Experiential Learning: You will have the opportunity to consolidate what you have learned by taking part in a paid onsite or remote internship or experiential learning project with organizations in our network.

Networks: As part of the MIT ReACT community, you will join a robust network of university and industry leaders, peers, and like-minded innovators to open up new avenues of academic and professional development. ReACT pairs you with a mentor for career advising, as well as connects you to opportunities like university scholarships, entrepreneurship and innovation challenges and competitions to help launch your ideas for impact into reality.

MIT ReACT combines rigorous academic curriculum, immersive skills workshops, professional
internships and experiential learning opportunities to provide you with the hands-on skills and experiences needed to accelerate your journey.

ReACT DEDP MicroMasters

In June 2018, in partnership with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), MIT ReACT piloted a new track in the MITx MicroMasters program in Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP). A select group of refugee students are currently enrolled in the DEDP Program free of charge with access to (1) the five online MicroMasters courses, (2) in-person workshops in  entrepreneurship, innovation, and professional development, and (3) paid internships in the development field. Like the Computer and Data Science Certificate Program, the ReACT track within the DEDP MicroMasters offers a blended model specifically designed to meet the needs of refugees and other displaced persons. It is our goal to use these program features to enable refugee learners to advance both their education and professional careers in an accessible manner.
